MEISSEN PORCELAIN, "FOUR SEASONS" CENTERPIECE, CIRCA 20TH. H 28" DIA 20.75"
A Meissen, cobalt blue and white, "Four seasons" centerpiece in the Neoclassical style. Having a bowl with pierced sides at the top, resting on intertwined vines supported by the four seasons, winter, spring, summer, and fall. At the interior center, there are four putti surrounding a tazza. All resting on an acanthus leaf and scroll base. Beautiful quality with crossed swords mark under glaze on base.
The figure of 'Fall' has a broken stalk of wheat in her right hand, otherwise in good condition. This is a beautiful magnum size centerpiece. TW 3-3-20
